An open top box with pierce carved basket weave sides and warm finish, probably in maple, attributed to master cabinetmaker Donald Dunlap of Antrim, New Hampshire, in the tradition of the 18th century Dunlaps. Donald Dunlap is the last cabinetmaker in the six- generation family of Dunlaps who began making furniture in America in 1765. This basket weave carved feature can be found on many Dunlap pieces, including highboy cornices. This box dates to the late 20th century and is in very good condition, with minimal imperfections and light wear. Dimensions: 3 ¾” H x 9 ⅛” square. Ref: 637
